turner summer vacation (mexico)
mary, the girls and i just got back last week from 9 days in mexico - we had a blast. God is so good to us… theres nothing quite as nice as a free vacation… we got all 4 plane tickets by using miles and super-generous friends gave us a 1,700 square foot (brand new, right on the beach) villa for 7 days. the trip was amazing and we came back rested and refreshed (but a little sunburned).
we did a ton of family activities… horseback riding (on the beach x2), snorkeling (and brought back some coral we dove for - is that illegal?), body surfing in the pacific and the sea of cortez, flea market souiveneer bartering, and enjoyed some amazing meals together.
trip highlight: creating memories that we will cherish forever.
trip bummer: having to put sunscreen on 3 times everyday (God created all the turner fam extremely pasty).
check out some of our vacation videos…
Hi Scott
It has been a long time! I wanted to catch up with you regarding the Church. I have been looking at your web site and think it looks great. Mexico looked like it was a great time. Irvine seems to be treating the family well.
I myself have been going through changes as well. I am in the process of trying to transfer into ministry as a part time job and hopefully phase out of design as a profession all together. The economy has been harsh to say the least and it comes at a time when my heart for design as a full time adventure is diminishing. I wanted to contact you first to offer my services.
I have always admired you and Mary and was hoping that things at the Church may have progressed to the point where you are starting to bring on staff. I am looking to do entry level ministry in terms of salary but you know that I have a lot to offer in design, facility management, event planning, general business operations (having run my own practice) as well as my experience with KIDZNET at Faith Community Church. I am someone who can fill many needs and do not need to be in a particular niche 100% of the time. I can be a roving worker who applies my skills in many areas from design to basic office management, video production, web content writing and graphics etc. This is a long way of saying I would be cheap and versatile! (Smile).
If this is not a fit for you I would ask that you think of other Churches I could try in the area. I am open to hourly work on a part time basis as well as full time which is the ultimate goal. I have simplified my finances to do this work at this time and am excited to get started and see what the Lord does! I have been wanting this since way back when we were working together.
Please let me know what the opportunities might be. Your help at this time would be so much appreciated. I am trying to figure out how to get started in an area that is new to me and not many people necessarily know what I can bring to the table.
Take Care
Therese
I’m not pasty! Just pigmentally challenged.
