09 has been a really tough year for most people - 08 was bad, but 09 was even worse.  big issues like: unemployment, reduced income, increased debt, house values continuing to fall, the fear of getting the swine flu… all helped to create the perfect storm - an atmosphere of fear and uncertainty.  people are just not sure what will happen next.  because of this, people are struggling to find something to be thankful for.

what is there to be thankful about?

i’m thankful we have a God that never changes - “I the Lord, do not change.”  malachi 3:6 (niv).  He provides us with islands of stability in a chaotic world.

be thankful that…

1. God’s love for you never changes - “I have loved you with an everlasting love.”  jeremiah 31:3 (niv)  /  ”nothing can get between us and God’s love.”  romans 8:28b (msg)
2. God’s word never changes - “the grass withers and flowers fade, but the word of our God shall stand forever.”  isaiah 40:8 (lb)  /  (Jesus said) “heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will never pass away.”  mark 13:31 (niv)
3. God’s plan for your life never changes - “what the Lord has planned will stand forever.  His thoughts never change.”  psalm 33:11 (cev)  /  ”for I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord.  they are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.”  jeremiah 29:11 (nlt)
